A Short History of Sudoku

Sudoku's history is a fascinating subject for those who are devoted to the game. You would imagine, based on its name, that Sudoku originated in Japan, but it actually appeared first in the United States and in the UK. Sudoku was first published in the late 1970's in North America in New York by the publisher "Dell Magazines". Dell, a specialist in puzzles of logic and ability, published Sudoku as "Number Place" in its Math Puzzles and Logic Problems magazine.

The American Version of Sudoku

It has not been absolutely determined who designed the modern American version of Sudoku, but some believe it was Walter Mackey, who was one of Dell's puzzle creators. Others believe it was Howard Garns, a 74-year-old retired architect and freelance puzzle constructor from Indiana. The reasoning for believing that it was Garns was because he was always on the list of contributors in issues of Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games that included "Number Place", but his name was always missing from issues that did not.

Sudoku Reaches Japan

Sudoku finally did reach Japan when the Japanese found a "Number Place' in a Dell magazine and translated it as something quite different: su meaning number and doku meaning single unit. It was introduced to Japan by Nikoli in 1984. The puzzle appeared in the Monthly Nikolist in April as "Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru". This can be translated to "the numbers must be there in only on instance". It immediately caught on in Japan, which is only natural, when you consider that Crosswords don't work very well in the Japanese language, and so number puzzles are much more prevalent there than word puzzles.

In 1986, the popularity of the puzzle increased, and Nikoli introduced two different versions of Sudoku. It is now published in many mainstream Japanese periodicals, including the Asahi Shimbun. The trademark name of Sudoku is still held by Nikoli while other publications in Japan use other names.

Sudoku and the Computer

It was not long before Sudoku could be played by computer. "DigitHunt" was created for the Commodore 64 in 1984 by a company called Loadstar/Softdisk Publishing. This home computer version of Sudoku allowed people of all ages to enjoy the game in a convenient manner and on demand, right on their computer screens.

The Modern Sudoku Craze

The Sudoku puzzle continued to grow in popularity and reached craze status in Japan in 2004 and the craze spread to the United States and the UK through pages of national newspapers. With this increased popularity came more analysis and a deeper scrutiny of Sudoku. It was an accepted belief that practically speaking, there are virtually endless solution grids for the 9x9 Sudoku puzzle. In 2005, Bertram Felgenhauer calculated the number to be about 6,670,903,752,021,072,936,960. He arrived at this number using logical computations. The analysis of the number of solution grids was further simplified by Frazer Jarvis and Ed Russell. It has not yet been calculated how many solution grids there are for the 16 x 16 Sudoku puzzle.

Sudoku is now published in a variety of places including the New York Post and USA Today. The puzzle is also reprinted by Kappa in GAMES magazine. The Daily Telegraph uses the name "Sudoku" and you may see the puzzle called "su doku" in other places. Many times you will find Sudoku included in puzzle anthologies which include The Giant 1001 Puzzle Book. In these books Sudoku is usually titled something like "Nine Numbers". Its popularity is such that "Sudoku" is now a well-known word around the world, and is part of millions of Google searches every month. What Have We Truly Achieved?

I think it's fair to say that folks who have acquired the full 1000 gamerscore (Or "Platted" for my PS3 fans) in Final Fantasy XIII or people who acquired the "Little Rocket Man" achievement in Half Life 2 are slightly obsessive compulsive. If you have no clue what the "Little Rocket Man" achievement is, I'm probably not talking about you. Over the past few years, you could easily toss me into the OC bracket."

When I first started playing games on my 360, I didn't care much about gamerscore or achievements. My first game was Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I would have logged 200+ hours playing that game with or without the cheevos. As time passed, I became more aware achievements and my obsessive compulsive tendencies began to kick in a bit. Soon, I was playing games I didn't even like (and sometimes hated) for 50+ hours just to squeeze out that last 25G Achievement for finding all 700 collectible items strewn about the in-game world.

What can I say? I have a very strong goal-oriented personality. There is virtually nothing I do in my life that I don't see significant purpose in dedicating time to. Cheevos scratch that itch in my personality. Over time, I began to focus more on acquiring achievements than enjoying the mechanics and atmosphere of the games. Achievements became a huge factor in my game purchase decisions. If I felt a particular achievement was out of reach or ridiculously tedious, I would avoid a purchase just because I didn't want to have a 10G or 25G blemish on my completion record. I felt a game was never truly finished until that final achievement was unlocked.

One of the catalysts that lead to my obsession was the subjective 'quality' of the games I was playing. I began to focus on achievements because I enjoyed obtaining them more than the gameplay surrounding them. I'd say they are largely responsible for me being able to finish games like Venetica, Sacred 2 and Fallout: New Vegas. This issue doesn't apply to every game. Oblivion, Tales of Vesperia and the Mass Effect series are games I could play and easily enjoy without cheevos.

And achievements are a different animal for me. I don't care about my overall gamerscore or being in competition with other people. Achievements are all about the joy I find in completing projects. That's how I began to look at my games--like projects.

Recently, I've noticed a change in my behavior. When I play games I find boring or unenjoyable, my obsession does not keep me playing past my dissatisfaction. Most recently, I experienced this with LA Noire. The achievements in LA Noire are fairly easy to obtain. However, I've found the game so profoundly unenjoyable that I just gave up and said "to hell with a the perfect 1000G."

Maybe it's my busy lifestyle that doesn't afford me the time to care as much. I think it has more to do with the fact that I've come to grips with the truth. Completing all the achievements in a video game is not really accomplishing anything. Especially when doing so requires herculean efforts and investing hours in the double digits. It's just not fun any longer. I've more important and enjoyable "projects" that fill my time now.

That's not to say that I no longer enjoy getting achievements. I still try to fully complete most games I play. I'm just being a bit wiser about it. If I don't enjoy a game enough to "1G it" (getting the full 1000G gamerscore), I won't force myself to do it anymore.

Still, Star Ocean: The Last Hope stares at me every time I open the sock drawer where I keep my games. 1G-ing it requires a 4-hour bonus dungeon run with no save points. Failure means the complete loss of 2-4 hours of my life. I've been reluctant to go for it because if I do fail--that's 4 hours I could have spent playing Kinect Sports with my son.

Benefits of Doing Jigsaw Puzzles

Even with the state of the world and a whole lot of technical ways of entertaining ourselves, jigsaw puzzles are not obsolete. Why? They're fun, they work the brain, and there's something tangible at the end of your hard work. There are some great benefits of doing jigsaw puzzles for the whole family. Whether you are 3 or 100, a puzzle is a productive use of your spare time and a great catalyst for some couple or family bonding time. If you haven't done a puzzle in a while, why not look at the options?

Great for Problem Solving

Doing a jigsaw puzzle promotes using your brain. Puzzles are great for stretching your imagination. You need to plan, problem solve, and as you see a puzzle coming together, it's really rewarding. The problem solving skills that puzzles promote are great for people of all ages. They can be educational and provide kids with reasoning and problem solving skills and they also help elderly people keep their mind active. For parents, it's a great time to spend time with the whole family in a way that doesn't rely on technology.

Family Time

Families who do jigsaw puzzles together can enjoy great family bonding time. This can be great for a rainy day or for game nights. Sure, you might already do family movie night and / or a board game. But spending time together doing puzzles can also be a great time for talking and staying in touch.

Wall Art

After the puzzle is done you can put it away for another day, pass it on to a family friend (people who love puzzles often do a puzzle exchange), or you can hang it on a wall. Framing a jigsaw you've done together is something you can do proudly.

Plenty of Options

Today, there are more puzzle options than ever. You can buy small board options for children, to help them develop skills with reading, matching, reasoning, and so on. There are small character options for kids, of their favourite super heroes or cartoon characters. You'll also find a number of gorgeous landscape options. Beyond that, today there are 3-D puzzles as well. Whether you want something with just a few hundred pieces or are feeling really ambitious and want to do one with thousands of pieces.

Worried that you'll start a puzzle but take ages to finish? That's ok. You can buy jigsaw puzzle storage accessories to help you keep progress without taking up too much room. If you do it on the table and want to whisk it away until later, you can buy mats that help you roll it away until you're ready to work on it some more.

Make Money As A Video Game Tester

Major video game companies are always looking for people who can put in the time to test their games. The primary role of a playability tester is to try and discover all of the bugs in a particular game.

Although many people think that becoming a video game tester sounds like a lot of fun, it's actually hard work and is just like any other career choice.

A videogame tester is required to have good communication skills and the position is taken seriously. Average pay for entry level playability testers or "QAs" as they are called is around $9 - $15 an hour.

The difference is that you don't just get to sit around and play video games and report back on what you think, which is the common myth about this job. Instead, many times you are required to play a game that is only 50% developed, which means that the work is not always glamorous.

Video game testers typically work your usual 9 - 5, but in some cases when there is a major deadline will be asked to put in longer hours to get the job done. You also must be able to test many different types of genres of games. RPGs, first person shooters, sports games, you name it.

Learning how to become a video game tester is one thing, but fulfilling the tasks is another. Picture this, you are asked to test a new racing game, and are given a specific track to focus on. You will probably be asked to play that track to the point where it becomes monotonous. This involves hitting other cars, going in forward and reverse in different locations, bashing into walls, testing speeds and mainly events within the games response.

In the video game industry they refer to this as "trying to break a game". The sole purpose is to assume that there is a glitch somewhere and then try and decipher exactly where and what it is.

There is also data entry work involved. You will be asked to be as specific as possible at noting anything that could be problematic for future players. You must log in details, communicate with a higher-up and help them locate and fix the problem.

Although a lot of people can't imagine this as being fun, the truth is that the folks who are video game testers love what they do. They are prepared for this kind of work and get paid fairly handsomely for their efforts. The other perk is that no college experience is needed, you can typically get increased pay with the more experience that you have and it's a possible foot in the door scenario if you want to break in to the gaming industry.

Essentially, there are several key things that game companies look for before hiring playability testers. The of course want someone with a good work ethic and good communication skills, but they also are looking for someone who "knows the ropes". This means someone who has experience playing all sorts of video games, knows the ins and outs of different systems, and can predict the common bugs that come with certain gaming platforms ahead of time so that they can go and hunt them down.

Stop! don't waste your time playing games just for fun. Get paid to do it instead. Videogame testers make good money - here's how you can get involved.

Setting Up Your Very Own Game System: 5 Important Things You Must Have

It's the same when you want to enjoy the newest block-buster at home, you need a decent sound system and a considerable wide-screen. We call them the basic things. It goes the same way with gaming and other entertaining activities.

In gaming, there are basically 5 essential tools that can make or break the deal. What are they?

They are a good computer screen, a sensitive mouse, a gaming keyboard, a decent graphic card, and a sound system. We will go into details now.

Essential thing #1: The computer screen

This is perhaps the first impression for gamers when it comes to playing their games.

Of course it's not necessary to purchase a huge wide-screen like watching movies requires. In fact, it will go against you if you do so. All you need is a good screen that will help relaxing your eyes.

Because we all know that players will spend hours after hours in front of the screen. If it annoys you more than help you, it's tough to enjoy the time!

Essential thing #2: The gaming mouse

Fact is, your mouse is like your main weapon when it comes to virtual battlefields.

This can't be truer when your favorite games are FPS like Counter Strike or Call of Duty. I remember how tough and ridiculous it was when I tried to finish the hardest level in CoD with a normal mouse. I couldn't beat those snipers until I plugged in my Razer Death Adder.

No pushing here, you can pick up your favorite brand. But remember that gaming mouses are not designed equally. Some are for FPS games, others might be designed for strategy games. So make the decision wisely.

Essential thing #3: The keyboard

There are some minor discussions among my friends (my game partners). They want to know if the keyboard is that important to the quality of the game match.

To me, it's not that crucial. At least in comparison with the mouse. But if you are aiming for something like a combo of gaming gears you can make extra moves. Not only you can save some money when you buy combo but it will also provide extra effectiveness for your response.

Who knows, just a mistype or misclick can be a win or lose matter!

Essential thing #4: The graphic card

But don't pay attention to just the graphical hardware alone. What you want is good computer hardware like a decent processor, a monster hard disk driver, a good cooling system, and the graphic card. They form the heart of the system. Without it, you simply can't play today's games. Because their requirements are incredibly high!

So if you're serious about entertainment with computer games, it's time to take a look at the hardware.

Essential thing #5: The sound system

Have you ever watched a block buster with the sound muted? So boring and looks stupid right? It's the same truth when it comes to playing games.

I know that you can play some games without hearing the sound but a lot of them have sound as part of the gameplay. The clear example are shooting games. How boring it could be when playing CoD without hearing the guns roaring?

I'm by no mean expert in the gaming industry but what I shared with you are my own experiences. And if you care about the sound system like me, I have a suggestion. Why don't you take a look at the M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 speaker system?

I write an informative review about the M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 that I know you will like it. Read it for more information before you make the final move. It won't let you down!

Spy Mouse iPhone Review

In Spy Mouse you play the part of a vigilant mouse running through houses looking for slices of cheese. It's an easy puzzle game you can load up whenever boredom or free time strikes. You have to be wary of cat patrols and other dangers that are out to exterminate you.

There are six worlds you have to conquer. Each one has about ten levels making it quite a big game. Some stages you have to complete without being detected and another stage has to be completed with a limit number of paths a player can trace. These objectives are quite hard to complete and the game can keep you exceptionally busy for a long time. Better leave a message on your answering machine that you will be unavailable for a few weeks.

There is also a boss fight with a cat. The cat and mouse fight is an interesting addition to the game and provides a little action for a change. For most part of the game you will be running and hiding. For many action fans this will be the best part of the game. Unfortunately, cat and mouse fights are extremely rare and you will wish Firemint had included more such scenarios.

Spy Mouse provides no fast furious action. The graphics are very well done and the pictures are razor sharp and polished to the bone. It's clear that Firement went through a lot of trouble to make the game visually appealing to bring mobile gaming on par with giant game consoles like the Wii and PlayStation. Nevertheless, the game is mediocre and average despite its impressive graphics. The pace of the game is slow and tedious and most people will play it out of boredom and nothing else. In some levels you will spend a fair amount of time simply waiting for patrolling cats to disappear before you continue on your journey. You can't really challenge them at will, unless you want to die. There is no addictive gameplay or any exciting tactics you can call upon. The only surprise is the occasional boss cat mouse fight mentioned before.

Spy Mouse is only a game you play when your gaming console is too far away. Perhaps you are a passenger while wifey is driving to that pleasure resort you have been promising the kids since 1999 and now you've run out of excuses and had to put down the PlayStation controls and drive to that wretched place. Instead of cursing and swearing all the way, simply load up Spy Mouse and you won't see the trip at all.

Curing Video Game Addiction

Are you a Video Game Addict?

Do you find yourself lounging in your comfy chair and playing your favorite video game for hours? But you think it is not really that bad, as long as your Human Paladin levels up. Then you realize you haven't taken a bath for quite a few days and your clothes started to stink. But then again, you think that an Orc Berserker smells worse than you. Then you stole a quick glimpse around your pad and noticed how messy and littered it has been. Again you shrugged it off and think there can still be worst places like the dreaded Frozen Undead Realms. Finally, your friends dumped you for not spending time with them. With this final straw of annoyance, you proudly yell, "I don't need friends, I have my Undead Legions!"

Surely this might be an exaggerated sign of Video Game Addiction, but sadly some video game addicts do exhibit such exaggerated reactions, to some extent that some commits suicide when something happens untoward to their game.

Video game addiction is simply defined as an excessive or compulsive use of computers and video games that interferes with daily life. Despite displaying symptoms that are characteristic of other addictions, video game addiction has not been given a diagnostic status by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). These behaviors include failure to stop playing games, difficulties in work and school, lying to loved ones, decreased attention to personal hygiene, decreased attention to family and friends, and disturbances in the sleep cycle.

But, hey, let's be hopeful. Having a video game addiction doesn't mean it's the end of the world. There's still a way out of it but it would need a large amount of work and willpower.

Steps in "Curing" Video Gaming Addiction

Since there is no formal diagnosis for video gaming addiction, there is still no approved therapy or method of curing video gaming addiction. But there are some ways a video game addict can do to help in alleviating video game addiction. Here are some of those suggested means:

Limit your GAME TIME.

Set a specific time and duration for playing on your gaming system. Limit your game time to at most 1-2 hours per day. It will be hard at first, but when your body has adapted to it, it will be easy as a normal daily activity. In other for you too easily adapt to it, try thinking about your game time as a reward for doing your other activities.

Make sure that you tell your friends, parents, or siblings about your plan to limit your gaming time. Provide them with a specific timetable of the gaming schedule you have in mind. In that way they can easily check-up on you and monitor if you are following your desired gaming time schedules.

Limiting your game time not only frees a large amount of time for you to pursue other activities besides playing games, it also corrects your biological clock (which is attuned to gaming over long period of hours) slowly.

Dispose of your GAME MACHINES.

If you are really so determined to cure your video game addiction and would do anything to achieve such a feat, then there's only one thing to do-dispose your GAME MACHINES. These game machines can range from video game consoles, mobile game machines, PCs, among others. But whatever it may be if you have really decided to dispose of them then do it, as soon as possible so that you won't be tempted to use it.

You can sell these game consoles for a price at your local stores or to your friends who have been eyeing it for ages. You can try to hide it in the attic or somewhere which is not easily accessible to you. You can also try to give it away as presents to your friends or family members, like your nieces and nephews. If you are giving it away, try to give it to someone who is far from you.

Dispose only game machines that you own. Ask or explain to your parents and friends that you are disposing your game machines and started to turn a new leaf.

Try other activities.

Whether you try the first or second suggestion, you will observe that you will now have an activity vacuum with the result of limiting you gaming time or disposing your gaming consoles. Lots of spare times to try new activities like the ones before:

Study - Now you have enough time to catch up with your failing grades and unattended studies. You can start reviewing over your notes or prepare for your big quizzes and tests. Start opening those school books and don't let the bookworms get the most out of it. A good education is better than a good game.

Read - As long as it is not an FAQ or strategy guide to your favorite game, then reading could be another great and fun way to pursue. Try reading the latest news on the newspaper; you will be shock at how much happenings you have missed. You can also try reading books in the library, you might know more about the Greek Gods than the game narrator in your game console.

Hang-out - Hang-out with your friends and family members. I guess it's about time you patched up with them after a long time of isolating yourself with your game console. Engage and chat with them, ask them how they have been and what they are up to now. Finally, be humble enough to ask forgiveness for taking them for granted.

No matter what the suggestions or methods are of riding or curing video gaming addiction, it will never work unless the person is dedicated to change himself/herself. DEDICATION and MOTIVATION are the key for these suggestions to be successful.

As one saying goes, "The power to overcome addiction lies in the belief that it is possible combined with a consistent strength of spirit."

What Makes Stickman Games So Popular?

A vast majority of online gamers have played stickman games and most, if not all of them are drawn toward the web-based game featuring nothing else but stick figures. One may ask why this is the case, given that these games differ significantly compared to others from the graphical aspect. Stickman games feature human bodies composed of nothing but sticks, and the environment is usually also drawn to similar effect. Given that parts like teeth, hair or appealing clothes are usually non-existent in a stickman's world, it therefore shouldn't be too hard to fathom if players decide to brush the game aside and move on to other games. However, empirical evidence seem to suggest otherwise. Although most of these games involve only simple movements and are played in black and white, they are still very popular and continue to rise in status.

There are actually a variety of reasons why these web-based stickman games are so well-liked. The first of these reasons is that such games span many genres. To give you an idea about the breadth of its reach, some of the most popular ones today involve shooting, strategy, first person, adventure and puzzle games. Most of these games are demanding, often posing great challenge to players. It is quite common to observe players wracking their brains while in the deep end of a game, trying to get a shot or perfect their timing in achieving a goal.

The second reason comes quite naturally. Stickman games are the epitome of simplicity when it comes to online games. There is no need for intricate details like curls in the hair, painted fingernails or flashy animation. One does not need to worry about how his or her character looks like since there isn't a need to create one. More often than not, you only have to press Start or Play to get moving in the game.

Simplicity is not solely associated with the graphical details of the game. You can also find simplicity in the controls. There is no need to memorize long lists of keyboard shortcuts; all you need is a mouse and, at most, some help from the arrow keys. Aim and fire, jump high or crouch - it depends on the genre of the game that you are playing. Above all, stickman games are not overly sophisticated. They are very easy to get into. Although some games may feature tutorials to learn the controls, beginners can usually skip these and dive straight into these games without any problem at all.

Another reason concerns loading times. Players who have slow internet connections can have the game ready to play within seconds. Due to its plain vanilla graphics, web-based stickman games do not require much bandwidth usage. All it takes is a few seconds to a few minutes to load. For most players, time is essential and if they cannot get a game to run on short notice, they feel better off looking at other online games.

Stickman games are generally free to play. You can finish all the levels, obtain all the artillery you need or play the game to your heart's content. There are no restrictions at all. Battlefield 3 Classes

The new classes in Battlefield 3 merges the 7 classes that were available in Battlefield 2. The four classes in Battlefield 3 are going to be support, engineer, recon, and assault. In Battlefield 2 you had a medic class but it was hardly ever used, mainly because you didn't get any additional points for doing your task and the weapons were inadequate to defend yourself. The assault class is now the new medic, and it includes a new feature where you can remove your defibrillator and add a grenade launcher attachment instead. So now you are able to customize each class anyway you want. In previous FPS like Black Ops and Bad Company 2, when you see a player that needs to be resurrected, you can go up and revive the player whether they like it or not. In Battlefield 2 the player had a choice whether if they wanted to be revived or not, which gave them a chance to change class; this feature will be brought back in Battlefield 3. Also the defibrillator will have a longer wait time before you can revive someone again, in Bad Company 2 there were too many people being revived left and right which became really annoying.

The support class will have the ability to give out extra ammo to players who need it, and, like in previous Battlefield games, will have heavier guns like the PKM, which holds more ammo and packs more firepower than a regular assault rifle. They have also included a bipod on these weapons so that when you lay prone you'll have better accuracy when firing.

The engineer class will have the same features in Battlefield 3 like they did in Bad Company 2, anti-tank equipment, and the ability to repair vehicles. Recon will be the new sniper class, which will have team based features on it rather than having players selfishly snipe enemies from afar, but there isn't enough info on this class yet.

Battlefield 3 will include squad leaders like in Battlefield 2, and it will be a 4 man squad. Squad leaders will have the chance to create the squad and the ability to respawn someone at your location. So it is really important for the leader to stay alive and to have your team support you in order to advance through objectives.

Overall they are really making the classes team based so that you work together to accomplish objectives, instead of running around trying to get the most kills. We can expect more features to come as we get closer to the release date. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes revealed at mw3vsbf3.com

To Reach RIFT Max Level, Avoid Getting Suspended

Rules exist everywhere. Even in RIFT online. When these rules are broken the player is forced to support the consequences. These rules apply to any player, no matter is it a low level player or a player who already attained the RIFT max level. RIFT rpg has very strict terms of use.

Every player comes in contact with these regulations when making an account or starting the game for the first time. Most of the times no one reads it just scroll down until the "I agree" button becomes clickable. To be honest it's not the most interesting lecture but there are some things that should be known from the start in order to avoid the risk of getting your RIFT rpg account banned.

The Terms of Use for RIFT online doesn't give a specific number or warnings a player may have before his or hers account becomes permanently banned. It only says that Trion Worlds reserves the right to close down any RIFT online account that violates the legal terms with or without notification at any time. That translates to that is up to Trion Worlds to judges the severity of the infraction and act accordingly. This may result in warnings, temporary account suspension or permanent ban.

One of the most severe infringements that most of the times result in permanent account suspension is the use of bots, game items exchange for real money or make use of game exploits. Players that purchased leveling guides to reach RIFT max level must be cautious and check if the guide does not contain any illegal information. Trion Worlds also has a policy regarding player and guild names.

A RIFT rpg name, be it character name, guild name or pet name is not allowed to be of offensive nature, connected to illegal activities, religion related in any way, bear any similarities to a trademark, public person or celebrity. This kind of rule violation does not result in permanent account ban, but a temporary suspension and of course, the name needs to be changed immediately. Although there are RIFT max level characters that get away with such names.

There are rules that apply when it comes to behavior towards other RIFT rpg fellow players or speaking in general chat. Posting messages repeated times (spam) or vulgar, harmful or disturbing content is also punished with a temporary RIFT online account suspension. Threatening, harassing or using obscene language when speaking to a player is another violation of the RIFT rpg terms of agreement.

All these rules may sound a bit strict but after all they are all common sense rules. As long as a RIFT rpg player doesn't use software that make use of game exploits or automation software (also known as bots) or attempts to buy or sell game goods for real money his or hers account is safe from suspension.

Also, if using a leveling guide to achieve RIFT max level it's the players duty to make sure it doesn't contain illegal information. Keeping a mature and polite attitude towards the other RIFT rpg players will avoid the risk of getting one's account banned. And if you spot such a player report him so RIFT online community can maintain its friendly atmosphere.

Making Progress in LOTRO on a Time Budget

Many of us gamers are merely "casual players", meaning we don't have too much time to dump into an MMORPG. I was excited to join a guild but quickly learned how dedicated and intense some players can be. I looked around for an advantage to catch back up; something that would give me the one-up like a LOTRO solo leveling guide or something to that effect.

Due to the fact that I couldn't log on at prime time with my friends, I was forced to kill random monsters if the quests I were on proved too difficult. Feeling there might be quests I should be able to do alone, I started looking into a Lotro solo leveling guide. I was really impressed with some of the guides I found online. I was amazed at where this guide was leading me to go, I had never considered some of these places. The cool part was the whole guide was designed to help players like me reach level 60 based on soloable quests and monsters. The best part of the guide was that it told me to keep my eyes open for groups in while soloing in certain areas. Ultimately, it all boils down to drive and dedication; if you want to climb the level ladder and hang out with the big players, soloing is a viable option (it just takes longer). All the guides did were point me to areas where I could knock out three or four quests at the same time. The guides emphasized running from mobs that weren't related to your quests so that you didn't waste time fighting each monster that attacked you. Remember to use your mount to travel more quickly and you'll be speeing around the map in no time.

A well made LOTRO solo leveling guide can make a huge difference in your ability to progress in the game. It's great feeling like you did something worthwhile and fun instead of just wasting time in LOTRO while not making much progress. I hope this brief article helps shed some light on something I was previously unaware of as these guides have helped me enjoy LOTRO so much more. Remember, it is possible to find other players and guilds who aren't all about blazing through the game as fast as they can. Keep your eye out for other solo players that are leveling alone and reach out to them; you may make a new friend or two!

PayDay: The Heist

PayDay: The Heist is serious, difficult and tough. But it is also fun and full of interesting surprises. If you own a PS3 this game is a real gem to your collection.

For those who enjoyed Point Break or Left 4 Dead, you will find Payday: The Heist relatively easy. You get together with friends and form a gang of criminals. You are tasked with different missions, like robbing a bank, breaking out a prisoner from jail and fleeing from a badly executed job. The enemy can alter their tactics based on your actions and decisions.

If you play the game over and over you may expect it to get boring as the same tactics will be employed, but Payday has a dynamic leveling system which changes the tactics of the enemy each time you alter yours. Your characters evolve as the game progresses and it will never get stale.

You can unlock new weapons, and collect bonus points each time you complete a level. There are three experience trees and you can choose any one of them and also change while in the middle of a game. You get together a crew and each one has their own special skill to contribute to the gang. An ammo man can ensure you have enough munitions for your task and a medic can be useful if you get wounded by enemy fire.

Playing the game over and over is the beauty of payday. Each time you can score better than the previous round. You can warn your mates about upcoming obstacles and enemies. You can co-ordinate your team to kill cops, and take out security cameras before they spot you. The nice thing about the game is that you get to wear clown masks and resort to a lifestyle of crime.

In single player mode the game is interesting enough, but multi-player online is where the game really excels. It's great to be able to be the leader of a gang of thieves and get other players to follow your every whim. Giving instructions and ordering your men around will make you a true gang leader.

Remember to listen to the game audio as it gives you valuable clues and instructions. Blabbering with your friends in sheer excitement can drown out the computer voices and you'll miss many interesting experiences the game has to offer.

The game costs about $20 and at that price for a multi-player game isn't asking too much. You'll soon realize its money well spent. The time you get to spend with your friends is well worth it.

Games in Movies and TV Shows - How a Cultural Phenomenon Became One of Marketing

Since I was little, games as a form of entertainment has grown from an insignificant past time into becoming the worldwide phenomenon it is today. As a child of the eighties, new technologies were very common place in an average household like the one I lived in. These new inventions - like the VHS and later DVD, CD-player and MP3 or the home computer - were all important steps into changing the way we live and spend our lives today. None of these however seem to have had the same radical effect on people as games have. Nowadays, children and adults alike from all walks of life, spend countless hours adventuring and playing. Even though portable music players are seen everywhere and television is bigger than ever, playing games is the one that I believe involves us the most.

I have been documenting games in movies since back in 2003 and one of the most important changes I've seen so far is the way games are featured in movies and television. Back in the early eighties, when home consoles and arcade games were in one of their biggest peaks, games in movies were often shown as a part of the youth culture. Kids of the eighties loved to spend their time at shopping malls or at fast food restaurants and this was often the place for arcades.

Nowadays, almost every single TV show and a large number of movies have product placed consoles, handhelds or games in them. Arcades are very rare, but somehow almost every kid seem to be aware of, or, are playing video games. They often know about game companies like Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft as well as bigger franchises like for example Mario, World of Warcraft or Halo. Also, when it comes to product placement it is almost certainly always one of the big three that are shown - Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft. This isn't so strange since they are the main manufacturers of home game consoles.

By documenting images from different movies and television series in one place, I have been able to build an understanding of which titles and distributors that appear to be or have been more prominent than others. By far the most reoccurring arcade games are Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man from Midway. This stays true to the fact that the Pac-Man franchise is said to be one of the most important throughout history. Among the companies I would say that Atari is the most exposed, closely followed by Nintendo - both of these pioneers in their own way. As we get farther into the 21st century, console manufacturers like Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, do appear more. I would even say that since the end of the last century, arcade games are an extremely rare sight within any media.

One thing that surprises me though is the lack of Massive Multiuser Online games in movies and TV shows. MMOs are huge right now and people spend millions and millions playing them and maybe it is the current success that keeps them from having to market them in media?

As I also document both video-, computer-, and arcade games as well as pinball machines, it is possible to get a rough apprehension of which of these are the most common. As pinball machines have been around from the late eighteen hundreds up to today, one would think that they also are the ones most shown within media. It is hard for me to say this for certain since there are literally thousands of movies out there. From what I can asses, home video games are the most common followed by handhelds, arcade games and then pinball machines.

The Electronic Playground will continue to grow and this will surely help me to determine if my conclusions are correct. For now, since they aren't based on any actual facts other than my own observations, they do point me in a general direction.

Different Variations Of Mahjong Game Played Online

The history of mahjong game dating back to over 1200 years and is played to pass time when one is free or wanting to relax his or her mind. With its origin being China, the game has spread out to many other parts of the world with over 20 variations coming up in the process. Their rules have not changed by a big margin either and the general objectives of the game are just the same in all variations. The following are some of these variations of the game which you can find easily from any online site you login to.

• Chinese official- the guidelines of this game are based on an international rulebook that was released by China's sports committee back in 1998. With its strict playing rules, the game has set the standards for any international competition to ensure it is well recognized and taken interest of as a sport like any other. This standardization has made Chinese official mahjong game to gain more popularity than any other.

• Hong Kong- this is yet another version of the game which is the most popular in China. This is because it is more suitable for gambling as it is played at a fast pace and only the doubles of a winner are counted when the game is over. Likewise, it has more opportunities for a player to score as compared to others.

• American- this is yet another variation and is the most severe with melds and jokers of not less than five tiles. It is popularly used in the American league of the game.

• Taiwanese and Japanese- the Taiwanese version of the game has a total of 16 tiles for each player to use while Japanese is commonly found in video games only.

Apart from these, there are other many variations of the mahjong game that carry with them a lot of significance and popularity. These may include Chinese transitional, European classical, French, German as well as Dutch thus you will not run short of a game to play in any part of the world. The popularity of this game can be attributed to the powerful place it has in the Chinese culture which has seen the release of even movies to highlight the exceptional bits of the game. Furthermore, there are established rules and regulations that allow for a more credible competition worldwide and its first major championship was held in 2002 at a local Chinese city called Ningbo.

Mahjong game can prove to be a very effective way of passing time for fun but one will have to look at all the mahjong variations for an opportunity to settle on the best and most suitable one.

Teenagers and Video Games: A Love Story

It is a common scene in most households with teenagers that parents will observe their adolescents glued to the latest video game for hours on end, at the detriment of chores, homework or social interaction. Many parents assume that video games are unproductive and that their kids spend too much time playing them and not on other things. It seems that digital entertainment may have some effects on teenagers that are not bad at all. In fact, research shows that digital games might help teenagers develop great skills that will come handy on day to day life. This is a subject definitely worth looking more into.

Society has even gone so far in its controversial view of video games as to suggest that games are responsible for violent behavior in young people. No matter what your stance on this type of entertainment is, there is little data to substantiate the claims that video games are responsible for violent youth. If anything youth who were already violent to begin with are attracted to violent materials, TV, media, or other violent activities.

For many parents it is hard to see the appeal or the benefits of their kids playing digital games. But research shows that certain kinds of games may be educational and actually stimulate the prefrontal cortex, a region of the brain responsible for what is called executive function. Executive function refers to the ability to integrate multiple stimuli, organize and analyze them, and determine an appropriate response or course of action, taking into account the probable consequences of the action taken. Most parents would be ecstatic if their teenager possessed those seemingly rare abilities. And parents are correct in assuming that this behavior does not happen as frequently in adolescents as in adults, because the adolescent brain has not fully developed this region yet.

Not all video games offer the benefits of prefrontal cortex development, and there certainly are video games that offer little to no benefits whatsoever. But, if you have a teen who is a gamer, and you want to determine if his games are worthwhile or not, ask to play with him. Have him teach you how the game works and what is involved. You might even find it challenging and engaging yourself. If certain video games can actually enhance brain development, maybe then parents will be more accepting of the hours glued to the "Executive Function Machine".

Pokemon - A Brief History of a Global Cultural Phenomenon

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past two decades, you must have already heard of the global phenomenon, Pokeman. Pokeman, a brand owned by Nintendo (the makers of Wii, and another famous video game brand - Mario), was launched in 1996. It was originally a set of role playing games for GameBoy, but soon morphed into an entire industry of video games, playing cards, collectibles, toys and other merchandize. Today, it is arguably one of the most recognizable brands in the world with followers in every country of every age group. From six year olds in Sweden to thirty somethings in Turkey, Pokeman is known and loved the world over.

The name Pokeman is derived from the Japanese 'Poketto Monsuta', which means "pocket monsters". Pocket monsters, of course, refers to the wide variety of 'monster' species that populate the Pokeman world. Originally, there were 649 such species and the list has been growing longer every year.

Pokeman is based around collecting, training and battling your own monster species. In this Universe, the trainer can collect monster species by using a specially designed ball called the 'Poke Ball'. Maybe you've even see this 'Poke Ball' - a red, white and black contraption that is a common sight around the world. Once collected, the monster species are trained and battled against each other. Each monster has special attacks and defenses, and winning a battle allows them to 'level up' to gain even more power.

Initially released as a role playing game, Pokeman soon evolved to include a very popular anime series. This series followed a trainer called Ash Ketchum collecting and battling monsters in a fictional world. Ash's first Pokeman is called 'Pikachu' - a furry, yellow creature that soon became the symbol of the Pokeman brand. Even today, most people associate Pokeman with Pikachu.

Besides anime, a number of full length feature films have also been made on the Pokeman Universe. A set of trading cards and manga comics further strengthened the brand's appeal. The cute, cuddly monsters appeal a lot to kids, who are the primary consumers of toys and merchandize related to this brand.

The popularity of Pokeman has been declining over the past few years. Nevertheless, many of the monsters - especially Pikachu - remain cultural icons throughout the world. In Japan, for instance, you can find everything from airplanes to theme parks dedicated to this brand.

Pokeman as a global phenomenon has left a significant impact on pop culture. It has been featured in everything from South Park and The Simpsons to VH1 and even a live action show ("Pokeman Live!") in the US. Despite controversies over the brand glorifying occult and violent themes, Pokeman continues to remain well loved throughout the world.

The Distinction Between Great Games and Great Facades

The Mass Effect series is arguably one of the best gaming sagas ever published. I'm definitely a fan. But the more I ponder its greatness, the more I believe that the interactive portions of Mass Effect have nothing to do with how awesome it is.

Crazy? Maybe so, but hear me out. When you strip away the epic, cut-scene-driven story; the lovable and distasteful characters; and the fresh coat of graphical paint, all you're left with is a third-person shooter that is average at best. The first two installments feature a middling implementation of a shooting mechanic and laughable enemy intelligence. They also employ parochial role-playing elements and excessively linear combat environments.

In addition, they both have deceptively little exploration. In Mass Effect, you get to jump into horribly designed Mako missions and find minerals for yourself, and in Mass Effect 2, you can fly around in a boring spaceship and scan boring planets for resources instead. Neither really features much of a sense of discovery.

Mass Effect 2's level-up system makes the same mistake many that modern RPGs do: heavily scripted character paths. By not providing enough enemies or data stations, you cannot gain experience at your leisure. In order to make Commander Shepard and his friends stronger, you have to advance the story. If that's the case, why have leveling at all? The skimpy number of skill points I earn throughout the adventure aren't really necessary. The game might as well auto-level my characters.

That said, I absolutely enjoyed my time in the Mass Effect universe. They are two of my favorite games from this generation, and the reason for that was the story-driven experience. It is, in a word, epic. I remember going into the final battle of Mass Effect 2 shaking as if I was actually going into combat with my friends. (I've been in real-life combat, so I know the feeling.)

Developer BioWare did such an outstanding job of developing the characters that I felt responsible for them and dreaded the possibility of losing a team member. I remember hearing Tali yell at me over the comm to hurry. I felt the genuine sense of urgency while I fought my way to her side. It was awesome!

Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of iPhone gaming. My mainstays are RPGs, Madden, the occasional tactical shooter, and retro kart titles like Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing. The iPhone doesn't handle any of these types of games particularly well.

But oddly enough, I recently got hip to the whole SuperBrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP phenomenon that all the major sites seemed so hyped about. I'm still playing through it, but I can see why so many people have been taken in by it. It has a novel art style, and the first boss battle definitely got my blood pumping. But much like Mass Effect, if you stripped these things away, you'd have a very tedious and boring game.

This idea isn't new. Old-school adventure developer Sierra did something similar with its Space Quest and King's Quest series. Neither of them were really "games" as we think of them in the contemporary sense. They were all about experience and discovery.

But where do we draw the line? How do we discern the difference between a game that actually features compelling design and a game the presents an appealing package? If I had my way, I would marry the world-building of Mass Effect with the free exploration and customizable leveling of the Elder Scrolls series.

In the future, I hope developers can stop using pretty window dressing to cover up a game I would never play based solely on the elements that make it distinct from other media. I don't want developers to let time and budget constraints hold them back from bringing us the best of both worlds.

What Is the Dice Game Called Chinchirorin?

Most modern gambling games are played with cards, but many years ago Chinese immigrants played an interesting game that utilized three six-sided dice and a bowl. It goes by many names other than Chinchirorin including Cee-lo, Four-Five-Six, Dice, and more. Despite its history, this game is still played today, and even gained a bit of popularity when it was included in Genso Suikoden; a video game series that was first released for the PlayStation console in 1995.

When playing the game you need only three dice, a bowl, and at least one other player besides yourself, although more is recommended. This is a betting game and there are different variations but the two main ones are described below. The first is where all players bet against the bank, and in the second it's a 'winner takes all' game.

Chinchirorin with a banker

One person is the banker and all others make even dollar bets against the bank. The player who was declared as the banker must put up an initial bet known as the center bet. Once that has been placed, the other players may fade, or cover, a portion of their bet. Each player, starting on the left of the banker, may fade a portion of the bank until the entire amount of the bank is covered by the players or until every player has had a chance to place their bet. Once the bets are placed, the dice are rolled. If the banker rolls an automatic win(if the banker rolls 4-5-6) the banker gets all of the bets, if the banker automatically loses on the roll (rolls a 1-2-3) then the banker loses all bets. However if the banker neither loses or wins on the first toss of the dice, then the banker must keep rolling until he either gets a win, loss, or a set point.

A set point is where there is a pair of dice and then an extra one (such as 3-3-6). The single die will then become the bankers point and that's when all of the other players will now be able to roll. Starting from the left of the banker each player will roll until they get an automatic win, loss, triple, or any point. If they get a point higher than the bankers they win their bet, and vice versa if they get a point lower. If they get the same point as the banker then it is a draw and there is no winner or loser. This continues around until all players have rolled then the game restarts.

Chinchirorin without a banker

This is where all players are equal and no one is the banker. At the beginning of each round the players will agree on a bet, put that money into a pile, then they will then begin rolling the dice. Whoever has the best roll wins; this includes automatic wins, and highest point. Once the winner is determined they get all of the winnings and then a new round starts.

Triple Triad Extreme is a free online card game that allows a wonderful community to play the classic game Triple Triad. The game is continually changing and upgrading with tournaments, alliances, online versions of Chinchirorin, and much more!

Four Tips Help You to Be a Healthy Gamer

With the development of the high-technology in our society, the games have changed a lot. Different from the games we played in the past, now video games are very hot and popular among public, especially among the young generation. Games can bring people joy and make them feel relaxed, which must be a good aspect of games. Also there are some gamers who addicted to the games deeply and always stay up, which is bad for their health. It will cause the decline of your immunity. It can also cause the endocrine disorders. The female gamers, who is always stay up late, will find that their skins are dry and lusterless. To enjoy the games more, they need to pay more attention to the health problem.

At first, gamers should avoid staying up in playing games to their best potential. Gamers are supposed to choose the proper time to play games. If possible, try to do it in the daytime.

Second, for those gamers who stay up frequently, they should complement more nutrition. They should eat more food with high protein, fat and Vitamin, such as milk, beef, pork, fish, beans and so on. Besides, eating some dried fruits are very necessary, such as nuts, peanuts, dates and so on, because they have the anti-fatigue effects.

Third, gamers had better not sit at the computers all the time. I do understand that the games are interesting and once you start to play, you will never want to stop it. Actually the gamers really need t go outdoors, relax their eyes and do some exercises. It really works for them to improve their fitness and be away from the diseases.

Last, Choose the appropriate related accessories. This suggestion may sound irrelevant to keep healthy. Let's take the handheld console for example. We all know the Nintendo DS. The young generation love it every much. Since we can carry the little box everywhere, we can play it once we have some free time. But you have to spend more time on storing these games so that you can keep on playing next time, which indirectly prolong gamers' playtime. Good game accessories will indirectly benefit our health. For me, I think the R4I Gold Plus card is a good choice for those handheld console lovers. The R4I Gold Plus card is equipped with independent upgraded written card, which makes the update thoroughly beyond the restrains from the principal machine. In addition, this card also has a lot of functions. It can support the card software of WIFI update online.

In a word, no matter how a video game is funny and attracts you, you should put your health in the first place. Staying up is not very available for gamers. Gamers are bound to take care of themselves while they are playing games. Relaxing themselves and keeping good health in the games is the best ending!

As a game lover, I'm interested in all kinds of games, handheld game consoles and the related accessories. Here, I sincerely recommend the R4I Gold Plus card to you. With this amazing card, your game time will become more enjoyable and smooth.

Sony PlayStation Phone

Could Sony Ericson Xperia Play be Sony's entry point in the mobile phone market? Even though it remains just a rumor at this point the Xperia Play has been gaining interest ever since its 1st public announcement by Engadget in late January.

The phone boasts a 4 inch LCD multi touch screen and also a slide-out PlayStation gaming pad. It combines the Android operating system with the one of the PSP Go to allow for a remarkably touch-friendly user experience. A few of the smartphone's top features include its eight mega-pixel camera, three-dimensional SVG functionality, and Bravia technology for faster video playback. The Xperia Play features the usual search, home, back and menu buttons which we see on almost any Android smartphone. The actual gaming pad itself is setup very much like the PSP Go and has a pair of shoulder pads, the common D-pad to the left, and Sony's signature four-shape buttons on the right side. The Xperia Play additionally has two touch-pad joy sticks in the middle which mimic any traditional Sony PlayStation game controller.

At this time little details have been published about the video game titles that will be available for purchase. Nonetheless, these are said to be available through apps you can download about the fifteen dollar price. Engadget tried out the device with a range of Ps One emulators that include Ridge Racer Revolution, Super Mario Bros. 4, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 and Gundam Battle Assault 4 and they described an exceptionally user-friendly gaming experience.

With no official announcement coming from Sony still many questions remain unanswered about possible mobile phone carriers and price. We can expect to see a special deal made with a leading service provider the same as the initial launch of the Apple iPhone. For right now, we only have got a small amount of instances to compare with.

The Sony PlayStation phone appears to be a pairing of Xperia's X10 phone plus Sony's PSP Go. Packed with Sony's modern technology the device appears to be a really strong addition to the Android OS family. My only major issue would be the life of the battery, an area where some Android mobile phones have been seen to suffer. Any gaming gadget would certainly need a somewhat potent battery which can be challenging to squeeze into the very small size of an Android cellphone.

Overall this Sony PlayStation phone is still an appealing idea with many questions yet to be cleared. Official word coming from Sony is anticipated in the near future however we should not expect to see the device on shelves before mid or late summertime. Despite the fact that this really is Sony Ericsson's very first Android OS phone this company has received plenty of experience building gadgets for the significant number of os's not to mention brands. It is easy to have belief that the particular phone could be put through an important stringent examining stage in advance of really being produced on the majority of folks. The product has already really been unveiled throughout a few other countriess for example India in which at this time there has not yet happen to be any specific major grumbles or even imperfections with the actual machine.

Simply put I will frequently be extremely curious about technological know-how ever since a really early age. One of the best units could be the Sony PlayStation Phone mainly because it really is breathtaking. Look at the Sony PlayStation phone review for more information.

Gaming - Boon or Bane?

Sitting in front of my PlayStation after a great game of racing made me think. Why is gaming considered a bad habit by many? Why is it of great disgust to parents? Why doesn't everyone play games? Why does one say I don't have time for such child play? And why does one say that you are wasting your time, when you should be doing something more serious? It made me wonder.

Gaming is considered as an addiction by many all over the world. To an extend it is the truth. With all the violence present in some games, it can motivate kids to wrong doings. And being in front of the gaming screen for hours without any outdoor games or exercise, not to mention the damage caused to your eyes from hours of gaming. There is much other known harm which is caused from gaming. Thus many consider gaming a bane.

Ever since I was a child gaming has been fun and had given me much happiness. Living in a busy city with fewer kids of same age and no one around to play with has always made me feel lonely. Being a shy kid I had fewer friends. Considering all these in hand, gaming was fun and has given me much happiness. So, under the right circumstances with the right amount, gaming can be good. It can make you less lonely. Many constructive games can improve your creative thinking. Imagination in your life can be of great use, and many games provide an opportunity for you to imagine.

Games played online with other humans and not with computers can increase your competitive spirit, which can help you with your life. It also can teach you not only the taste of victory but also it can help you understand the bitterness of failure and make them try till you succeeds.

Anyone of any ages can play games. Escaping from the real world into the virtual gaming world at times is advisable. One can get relieved from stressful situations through games; there are also many games which can improve one's memory power, typing skill, hand-eye coordination, and reflex. It is said that when you are alone your mind starts playing with you in many ways. Positive thoughts comes less while negative ones will be filled in your mind, also habits like drinking and smoking may come into your life. But when you pass your time with something like gaming it can help your mind be occupied with the game which can help you forget all the stress and tension, without any smoke or drinks.

Many go for paid yoga classes, therapies, counseling and all to get relieved from ones stress and tension and the diseases caused by it. But I say get an Xbox or a PlayStation, get a good game, game with your friends, family in weekends, and have a get together. And this will give you the same results. Thus I consider gaming a boon.

Game Accessories: It's Time To Level Up!

The main difference between the usual desktop computers and gaming level devices is very important. They greatly vary in performance and style or appearance. The use of game equipment is now trending because nearly all gamers would want to enhance the looks of their gadget.

The gaming field necessitates high and speedy performance. Any advantages that a player can gain over his rival could mean survival for cyber-world addicts. Good for players that the companies such as Razer, Logitech and Microsoft are very much aware of this and are offering gaming accessories to further enhance your gaming experience. If you have just begun using game equipment, it is very important to match your device with the appropriate accessories. If not, you could be restricting the over-all presentation accessible to you. The typical mouse and keyboard won't work for you. Serious gamers should have top quality items to enjoy gaming!

It is quite obvious that if you are after getting the best game equipment there is a cost to settle. But the difference in speed and performance is worth the money only if you are so serious about playing the game. As stated earlier, these accessories are not only meant to improve your gaming experience but to enhance the physical looks of your devices as well. You can choose your own colours and designs to make it suitable for your personality.

A mouse specifically designed for gamers is an excellent way to start collecting accessories. Among the best items include Logitech G9. Its grip and mass is changeable. You can also modify the LEDs.

Another good option is the Razer Death Adder Gaming House which is very speedy. It offers pinpoint correctness that makes your game an amusing one. It also has a 5 programmable buttons so you can readily alter the settings to suit your desires.

When we talk of gaming level keyboards, Logitech again tops the list. Logitech G15 keyboard keeps you well-versed and prepared to earn the game! By using Logitech -exclusive Game Panel LCD, you are capable of identifying your opponent's server or be notified as soon as your WoW gaming field becomes available.

Quality headsets and speakers are also necessary to top the game. Most of the plays these days require speedy and accurate conversations with your team mates. If your group can't converse well and clearly, you might just be thrown out of the game earlier than what you expected.

I've just purchased some new and cool game equipment and game accessories online, they offer a wide variety to choose from and the best deals that you won't be able to find in stores or shops!

Cheats for Chuck the Role Model in "Dead Rising 2" for PS3

Cheats for Chuck the Role Model in "Dead Rising 2" for PS3thumbnail "Dead Rising 2" is a game for the PS3. "Dead Rising 2," an action-adventure horror game for the PS3, stars Chuck Greene, a former motocross champion who must defend humanity against a zombie apocalypse. Players guide Chuck through a number of harrowing adventures, including a challenging side mission called "Chuck the Role Model." Although there are no real "cheats" for the mission, it can be easier to complete if you know a few helpful tips.

The "Chuck the Role Model" side mission requires you to rescue a woman named Vikki from the clutches of a psychopathic killer. You'll fight the psychopath, Brandon, inside a public restroom. Brandon attacks you with broken glass, hiding in the stalls and around corners for ambushes. Quick and ruthless, Brandon favors a jumping assault that often knocks you to the ground. If he gets on your back, he'll pin you to the floor and stab you repeatedly, inflicting serious damage.

During Case 2-2, activate the "Chuck the Role Model" side mission. You'll have to cut through the Americana Casino and head toward the Arena. When you reach the moving walkway, look for the restroom door along the right side wall. Your fight with Brandon will take place inside that restroom.

If possible, bring good combo weapons and firearms to the fight, because Brandon can be susceptible to combo attacks. You'll also need to load up on food. Brandon is a dangerous enemy who will inflict serious punishment, requiring you to eat food to gain energy during battle. You can also find a food item in the restroom's back corner for a quick energy boost.

Be on guard when you enter the restroom; Brandon will leap out and attack without warning. Defeating Brandon requires quick reflexes and some timely dodges. You need to wait for Brandon to perform his jumping attack and then slip out of the way. If Brandon misses you, he'll land and hesitate for a moment on the ground. That's when you need to race in and attack him with knife gloves or the spiked bat or some similar combo weapon. Repeat the same process three or four times to defeat Brandon.

If you're having trouble dodging Brandon's jumping attack, try to jump into him just before he lands. While you'll still take damage, the jumping collision prevents Brandon from knocking you backward through the air and down to the ground. Best of all, Brandon will still land and pause on the ground, providing you the chance to counter.

Performance is in high demand when it comes to modern games. Alienware incorporates some of the best processors found in today's market to built highly reliable gaming machines. When a new processor line hits the market, you're sure to find an Alienware laptop model which has one installed.

This is a comprehensive and easy to read list of good jet fighter games. This list will appeal to the tastes of any fan who enjoy fighter jet games, or flying games in general.

Out of the many popular games for jet fighter fans, Ace Combat 6 is currently one of the most played. Some of the highlights of this game include fast paced, intense fighting, along with highly detailed and strategic game play. Free Falcon 5 is the free version of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force, it has upgraded features at the cost of system stability during play. Free Falcon 5 offers a highly detailed level of game play that will make you feel very much like a real air force pilot. The actual game play experience will involve many actions a real pilot would take, such as operating the complex radar computer displays.

A final jet game that is worth noting here is After Burner. This is an old school game, and is now consider a classic. It is one of the most popular jet fighter game made, and is still a quality game. After burner puts in controller of one of several fighter jets, and allows you to shoot down many times of aircraft in a High speed and interactive on rails shooter style. This is an arcade game, not your normal simulation and you will be armed with a large amount of weapons to shoot down as many enemy's as possible.

Child Play - The New Generation!

Fight... Fire down the hole... Attach... Destroy them... Finish him! Those are the voices that you'll hear in video and computer games. Shocking? Yes, these words and voices are for real but the most shocking of all is what the children see. But what drives children to still play these video games?

Video Games and there alike as a whole are created to entertain people, adult and children. Most of them are fun to play with especially when you know how to play the game. These games vary in their creation it may be as easy as Pacman and as difficult as Starcraft or Counterstrike but all in all they are all just click and play. But what really drives them? One thing for sure its visual, something look beautiful and appealing to the eye is worth watching plus add up the interactivity then viola! You got yourself hooked up.

A lot of Filipino children don't have this kind of entertainment showcase in their house. So how would these children play as often as they want too? Let me see... hmm... video games... where can we find these video games? Well to name some, there are lots of Arcades in malls and play station in some computer cafe or rentals. So that's where they get to play those games. A walk away from their house and one ride of jeep to the mall makes every video game accessible to kids anywhere and everywhere.

I remember when I was still a child the first video game that I have played was made by Atari. Shooting the parachute falling from above which are rendered in a black and white, the main objective was don't let those parachute land on your territory. Too simple ha! As a kid back then I was really amazed and that was a decade and a half ago. Now, these video games had evolved and become more appealing to children and they can easily influenced by whatever they see and hear. They are more likely compared to a computer what would be the input would be the output.

Just recently, I manage to read some article from the Philippine Pediatric Society about the effect of the video and computer games that children play. It is said that most of these children who's playing computer or video game lives a sedentary lifestyle. What was a sedentary lifestyle? According to the Philippine Pediatric Society it is a motionless activity of body parts and if children are living this kind of lifestyle it may increase the possibility of having a cardiovascular disease, obesity or morbidity. Why? It is because they don't exercise and do something. There are only few parts of their body does the movement. Some of these are the eyes, hands, fingers and the butt. Sitting for hours will sure give you a Guinness World Record. According to the article these are just the physical effect, so meaning there are more side effects. In terms of socialization children become socially inadequate and immature. A child with a playmate instills the feeling of having a playmate unlike in video or computer games, they instill the feeling of competition and reset button whenever they fail to do the task. Also according to the article children do have hard time coping with frustration and failure because of the idea of resetting. It is also expressed in the article that children may become short-tempered, aggressive and prone to commit violence because of some gruesome scene in the game. It is indeed true because you will really notice it to children in the community and it shocking to hear a six year old kid saying some of those words.

The rampant increase of these video and computer games are uncontrollable but if parents have established a deeper relationship with their child and having a parental guidance or a family conversation once in a while telling that this games are not good to play for their age. It is also good if parents will encourage their children to play out-door games like run and tag or the like with this it will instill and restore the value of child play.

The Current State of PC Gaming and the "Sysifos Problem"

Full disclosure before you start reading this article; I am a PC gamer at heart. But I am also a gamer that enjoys great games on whatever platform they are available.

I currently own an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii (hey, don't laugh, it seemed like a good idea at the time) and a Nintendo DS.

So I bear no ill will towards consoles, even though the majority of my everyday gaming takes place on PC.

It seems that as of late the PC is having somewhat of a resurgence as a major platform for "Triple A" games.

Battlefield 3 is a good example of a major release that flexes its muscles on the PC platform in comparison to the console version.

The current generation of consoles are getting pretty long in the tooth by now.
With 5-6 years under their belt, it is no wonder that game developers are trying to squeeze out the last drops of gaming juice from these partially mummified fruits of gaming hardware.

Of course, this also means that the current console generation has a huge audience by now, so there is plenty of incentive to still keep pumping out your games on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

But it does look like new games are now first shown on the PC, where developers can give a truly stunning presentation, before a more toned down version that can run on consoles is demonstrated.

This is a very natural development, as game makers will of course always be chasing those stunning visuals that will make the jaws of the public drop open and do their best "fish-on-land" impression.

Since the guts of the consoles have pretty much given all that they are going to give, it is becoming almost impossible to get this sort of reaction from simply being clever with your coding.

You need more horsepower than what you can find withering inside a PlayStation or Xbox.
Enter the PC with its constantly shifting hardware that has by now completely and utterly eclipsed that of the consoles.

This allows game developers to create those stand out visuals that will get heads turning and preorders rolling.
Even if it turns out to be a bit of the old smoke and mirror, showing off the PC version of the game on a super high end PC, while Joe Mario Kart ends up ordering the Xbox 360 version that only has half of the graphical bells and none of the whistles of the PC version.

This is something that we have seen before and it's a cycle that I call the "PC Sisyfos problem".

Picture the preference for PC's as a big hill.
At the bottom of the hill is a large rock that gets pushed up to top of the hill as PC games slowly gain momentum against their console counterparts, as their technology continues to evolve.

Every new major console generation launch sees the release of hardware that is usually equal or better to most hardcore gaming PC's that are out at the time.
Coupled with the fact that you are working with a fixed platform, this means that developers are able to churn out some games that put most of the contemporary PC games to shame and makes all gamers go "oooh, shiny shiny!".

The rock is at the bottom of the hill

This effect starts to wane a bit, but after the first couple of years it's not that pronounced, because developers may be struggling with hardware that is slowly becoming obsolete, but they are also learning all the tricks that they can use to cram still more power out of the box.

The rock starts slowly being pushed up the hill

Inevitably of course, this development of squeezing ever more power out of the same hardware reaches a limit.
This is when you start noticing that PC games are beginning to look noticeably better than their console counterparts, and probably where we were at about 12-18 months ago.

The rock is now very close to the top of the hill

Finally we enter a brief period, where it is evident to everyone that the PC is just punching the consoles in the face and taking their lunch money in terms of hardware power.

All the visually impressive stuff is being shown on PC's and consoles have well and truly hit their performance ceiling.

The rock reaches the top of the hill and everyone wipes the sweat off their faces and enjoy a brief and ill advised round of "hells yeah, in your face Microsoft/Sony/Sega/Nintendo".

This is the point where the next generation of consoles is announced.

Crammed full of next generation hardware and sporting tech demonstration videos that make PC gamers weep salty tears of envy, they immediately rally the gaming public towards this new beacon of visual splendor.

The rock tumbles headlong down the hillside, crushing any PC fanboys foolish enough to try to stop it.

Right now we are just coming up on the hilltop.

The PC is markedly stronger than the consoles and we have yet to see a response from the big two console makers (Nintendo has pretty much already given up on trying to create consoles that are hardware powerhouses).

So to all my fellow PC gamers that are pushing the rock alongside me I say; Enjoy our brief moment of glory and spot in the sun.
It's been a fun ride and I'll see you all at the bottom of the hill next Christmas.

Don't stop pushing!
